Travel Designer Review:
This morning you will start the day by visiting the Caño Island Biological Reserve, which is located just 12 nautical miles from the coastline. The boat trip to the Island takes approximately 45 minutes, but much depends on the weather, the sea, and other conditions.
The island rises 90 meters above sea level, to a wide plateau, which is covered with very tall evergreen forest.
On the island it is possible to observe the stone spheres, made by the first civilizations that inhabited the area. Right in front of the park ranger station, there is a beach area where you can relax and have fun.
The true beauty of Caño Island is not found on land, but underwater, as it is surrounded by five coral reef platforms, where more than 15 species of stony corals have been identified.
The dark volcanic rock is home to numerous amazing species of marine flora and fauna. The water is relatively shallow and suitable for snorkeling, which allows an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the marine life that surrounds Caño Island.
Casa Corcovado has a prime location on the edge of Corcovado National Park, offering luxury accommodation, first-class service, exciting activities and the opportunity to unwind. If you are looking for an authentic, remote and unforgettable vacation experience in Costa Rica, you'll find it at Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge.
