Day 1:

Welcome to Europe after a long flight.
Gift.
Secret information: upon booking this itinerary the Travel Designer reveals additional information with tips.

Friends! After an intercontinental flight from America to Europe, you will surely feel very tired. In addition, you will have to get used to the new schedule.

I would like to give you some recommendations so that you can adjust and recover your energy as soon as possible.

First of all, try to take your flight as late as possible from America; so that the journey is at night and you can sleep better during the flight.

It is ideal that you prepare for a long flight. Take comfortable clothing, a neck pillow, something to cover yourself from the cold on the plane, and water to keep yourself hydrated during the flight.

I think that staying hydrated during the trip is the most important thing. Thanks to hydration, you will feel better and you will be able to prevent your throat from drying out and getting sick.

Other useful accessories can be noise-canceling headphones with your favorite music, books, and whatever you like to distract yourself. Many people download movies from Netflix and watch them on their cellphone.

Personally, I try not to eat too much before or during the flight. Airplane food doesn't usually sit well with me. In addition, pressure changes affect the digestive system. That's why I recommend eating healthy and light.

Another important recommendation is not to let sleep overcome you on the first day. Resist and try to sleep as late as possible the first night. This way, you will have a long and deep rest.

Usually, if you fall asleep early, you will wake up at 5 in the morning with nothing to do and you will be tired all day.

Well then! Now the excitement of our trip to Europe begins. An adventure awaits us that you will never forget. For those who book one of my itineraries, I will share some additional tips.

Welcome to Munich Airport Orientation Guide

Welcome to Munich! The capital of Bavaria awaits you with its perfect blend of tradition and modernity, from its impressive Gothic churches to its vibrant beer gardens and lush green spaces. Whether you're here to explore the rich history, enjoy the local cuisine, or simply wander through its charming streets, Munich has something special for every visitor.

Munich holds a special place in my heart as it was one of the first cities I visited in Europe. The German people's friendliness is simply astonishing; they are all very welcoming and generous to tourists. At least, that was my experience. Although I'm not sure how objective I can be since I indulged in a few liters of beer!

I usually don't recommend any activities on your arrival day in Munich since I don’t know your flight’s arrival time. Check the following days to see if there's something that interests you and that you have time to do. Going for some beers in the city center is always a great idea!

But before diving into all that this city has to offer, the first step is to comfortably reach the center of Munich from Munich International Airport (MUC). Here, we explain the best ways to do so to start your journey worry-free.

1. By Train: The Most Convenient and Common Way

The most practical option favored by travelers is to take the S-Bahn train, which directly connects the airport to the city center. Trains S1 and S8 are the lines that will take you on a journey of approximately 40 minutes, running every 10-20 minutes, ensuring an excellent frequency. It's a comfortable and economical way to reach your destination while enjoying the first views of the city.

You can purchase tickets at the automatic machines at the airport station or online. We recommend getting a group ticket if you're traveling with others, as it may be more cost-effective. Additionally, the train will take you directly to key stations like Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) and Marienplatz, the heart of the city, where you can start exploring right away.

There are 24-hour tickets available; it might be worthwhile purchasing this ticket if you plan to do a lot of sightseeing around the city. This is my preferred way to travel to and from the airport.

2. By Bus: A Simple and Economical Alternative

Another option is to take the airport bus, which will comfortably transport you to Munich's center. The Lufthansa Express Bus is a popular option that operates frequently with stops at Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) and Schwabing. The journey takes around 45 minutes, depending on traffic, and tickets can be purchased at the airport, online, or directly from the driver. It's a good choice if you prefer traveling on the surface and enjoying the views along the way.

3. By Private Taxi or Transfer: For Added Comfort and Speed

If you prefer a more personalized arrival, you can opt for a private taxi or transfer service. Taxis are available 24 hours at the airport terminal, and the journey to Munich city center takes approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. It's the most comfortable option if you have a lot of luggage or are traveling in a group, although it is also the most expensive, with fares ranging between 70-90 euros.

Whichever option you choose, Munich will welcome you with open arms and a wealth of experiences to live. From the modern S-Bahn train to the personalized service of a private taxi, each option provides a comfortable way to start your Bavarian adventure. Get ready to discover this wonderful city and let Munich surprise you from the moment you arrive!
