Day 3:

Train from Munich to Prague, a day of discovery

Today we embark on a journey that connects two European gems: from the vibrant Munich to the charming Prague, crossing dreamy landscapes on a five-and-a-half-hour train ride. This journey is more than just a transfer; it is an opportunity to relax, disconnect, and start feeling the magic of Central Europe.

Prepare for your Train Journey: A German-Style Breakfast

We start our day by taking the train in the morning, so it's the perfect time to experience an authentic German meal before departing. Before arriving at the station, I recommend following the locals' lead and stocking up on some typical provisions for the journey: a fresh pretzel, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and some delicious German sausages perfect for snacking on while you admire the scenery from the train window. Don't forget to bring something to drink, perhaps a bottle of water or juice, to complete your Bavarian breakfast on the go.

Enjoy the Journey: Relax and Connect with the Landscape

We board the train and settle in to enjoy a relaxing ride. As the train moves along, the landscapes change, and Bavarian villages give way to green fields and small hills that seem straight out of a fairytale. Take this time to read, listen to your favorite music, or simply let yourself be carried away by the train's rhythm as Europe passes before your eyes.

We will arrive in Prague around 2 pm, just in time to feel the city waking up from its siesta and preparing for the afternoon.

Check-in and Lunch in Prague: The City of a Hundred Spires Welcomes You

Upon arrival in Prague, we will head straight to the hotel to check-in and drop off our luggage. Once settled, it's time to refuel with lunch. Prague is known for its delicious cuisine; take the opportunity to try a local dish, such as "svíčková" (beef with a rich cream sauce) or a traditional Czech soup that will make you feel at home.

Afternoon in the Old Town and Sunset from Charles Bridge

With our energies replenished, we will set out to explore magical Prague. We will start with a walk through the Old Town, the city's historic center, where every corner is a journey into the past. You will be amazed by the beauty of the Old Town Square, dominated by the Church of Our Lady before Týn and the iconic Astronomical Clock, which every hour fills with tourists waiting to see its mechanical figures parade.

From here, we will continue to Charles Bridge, one of Prague's most iconic and photogenic spots. With its Gothic statues and spectacular views of the Vltava River, the bridge is the perfect place to end the afternoon. Take your time crossing it, enjoying the street musicians and artists who bring it to life.

As the sun begins to set, find a quiet spot on the bridge to watch the city turn golden and pink, reflecting in the water. The view of the red roofs and towers silhouetted against the sky is simply magical and will leave you with a sense of peace and awe that you will remember forever.

Enjoy Prague and Let Yourself Be Surprised

Today is just the beginning of your adventure in Prague, a city that invites you to get lost on its cobblestone streets and discover its history in every corner. This train journey has been the perfect prelude to what awaits you, and this afternoon in the City of a Hundred Spires will be just the first of many unforgettable experiences. Welcome to Prague!

How to buy your train ticket from Munich to Prague.

To purchase train tickets from Munich to Prague, you have several reliable and convenient options that will allow you to buy them in advance and ensure a smooth journey. I recommend trying one or two, prices may vary even for the same ticket. Here are the main ways to do it:

1. Deutsche Bahn (DB) - Website and App

Deutsche Bahn is the main train company in Germany and one of the safest and most reliable ways to buy your tickets. You can purchase them on their website bahn.com or through the mobile app. You just need to enter the dates of your trip, select the most convenient schedule, and follow the payment steps. Tickets usually include a QR code that you can show from your mobile device.

The website is translated into Spanish, it's the easiest way to buy.

2. Czech Railways (České dráhy)

Another option is to buy tickets through Czech Railways, especially if you prefer a site in English. Their website cd.cz also offers the Munich-Prague route and sometimes with promotional rates. It's a good alternative if you want to compare prices.

Here, the price is generally cheaper. The website is only in Czech and English.

3. Train Stations – Machines and Ticket Counters

If you prefer to buy your tickets in person, you can do so at the automatic machines or at the ticket counters at Munich's central station (München Hauptbahnhof). This is convenient if you decide to travel on a whim, although prices may be slightly higher compared to advance online purchase.
